Patricia | Tapestry Counselling

Welcome

My name is Patricia, and I am an experienced and qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor, accredited by BACP.

I am interested in listening and talking to you about whatever is troubling you, or just about anything that is on your mind that you want to talk about. Whatever your story is, your tapestry, I am interested in listening to and discovering it.

I run sessions from my private practice in Tunbridge Wells and online.

About me

I am an experienced and qualified counsellor and a registered member of BACP, and I adhere to its code of practice and ethical framework.

I come from a business background with nearly 20 years of experience in the corporate world and running my own business; therefore, I have experienced firsthand the demands and stress a workplace can bring. I am also a specialist mentor working with children (age 11+) and young people on the Autism and ADHD spectrum.

I have experience working with a wide range of mental health issues, including loss, bereavement, anxiety, depression, attachment, neurodiversity, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma, abuse, and more.

I provide a warm, safe space for us to talk about your feelings, thoughts, and experiences, with the hope of helping you find a better way forward. Seeking support is a courageous step, and people come to my practice for many different reasons:

  • Feeling worried or anxious

  • Going through some life changes, such as work or relationships

  • Feeling depressed, stuck and lost

  • Experiencing panic attacks

  • Processing grief, bereavement and loss

  • Feelings of being unable to move forward from the memory of childhood trauma

  • Support with navigating neurodiversity in self or a family member

My core training is psychodynamic, which means exploring your past experiences and early relationships, and how they influence your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I work creatively, which means I can offer a supportive environment that suits you and incorporate different elements of psychotherapeutic therapy.

I have experience working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

My Counselling Approach

“Feeling real is more than existing; it’s finding a way to exist as oneself…
and to have a self into which to retreat for relaxation.”
